A PARK in Worcester was sealed off after the body of a man was discovered by a gardener.
The man, who is expected to be formally identified today, was found on a park bench in Cripplegate Park, St John’s, yesterday morning.
The area was cordoned off by police from around 11.30am until after lunchtime and the body, which was found sitting upright on a bench close to the tennis courts, was covered in a white sheet.
A police surgeon was at the scene for about 40 min-utes before the body was removed.
The cause of death is currently being treated as unexplained and a post mortem examination is expected to take place today.
A police spokesman said: “A formal identification should also take place on Friday.”
It is believed the park gardener had seen him earlier in the morning but thought he was asleep.
