GRAEME Hick says that no decision has been made on whether he will play on past this year.
The Worcestershire batting legend is out of contract at New Road at the end of this campaign — his 25th with the County — but the 42-year-old will wait to see how his body holds out before making his mind up.
The former England star hit a magnificent 149 on Wednesday in the opening day of Worcestershire’s LV County Championship Division Two match with Derbyshire, showing that the talent is still there.
“No decision has been made yet — I want to see how the body holds up first,” Hick said.
“I’m looking forward to finishing this season and then hopefully we can see what is in store for next year.”
Having broken so many records in his illustrious career, Hick is still an integral part of the Worcestershire line-up in all forms of the game.
He was the County’s leading run-scorer in the Twenty20 Cup and he is still proving to be the best catcher in the country — leading the way with 23 in the Championship.
“It is important for the club to make a decision as well.
“I will talk to the chairman and the chief executive when the time is right,” added Hick.
