WORCESTER teenager Tom Watts will be competing in the male junior elite race at the Mazda London Triathlon tomorrow.
The 17-year-old has been working towards the event after being selected and trained through the Mazda and British Triathlon Federation (BTF) Talent ID Programme, a nationwide initiative to find and support the next generation of British triathletes.
Watts has spent months preparing for the event as part of his triathlon training provided through the scheme, which was launched in September 2007.
He will be joined in the capital by two other youngsters from the West Midlands region in Lauren Creamer from Birmingham, and Ryan Ordidge from Shropshire.
“Tom has genuine talent in the sport of triathlon,” said regional coach Steve Lumley.
